Anti-Graft Movement

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Saturday indirectly hailed social activist Anna Hazare's anti-graft movement, saying the 'active interest' of the people in the national debate against corruption augurs well for the country.
Addressing the National Integration Council (NIC) meet here, Singh said Indian democracy had struck deeper roots in recent years with the strengthening of local governance institutions and a more informed and active citizenry.
'The active interest displayed recently by the people in the national debate on corruption augurs well for the future of our country,' he said, but did not name Hazare or his movement directly.
'Our democracy has struck deeper roots in the recent years with the strengthening of local governance institutions and a more informed and active citizenry,' he added.
His remarks come against the backdrop of a 13-day fast by Hazare at Ramlila Maidan here seeking a stronger Lokpal bill in parliament.

Healthy Environment With Green

Global warming is caused by emissions of carbon dioxide, which trap heat so it can't escape the atmosphere. Although cars, factories and power plants do most of the damage, the computer is at least partly to blame. Like all the other electronic device computers too have an impact on the environment, for this reason all most all the government are on the earth are taking drastic measures to reduce Carbon emission in their countries. Energy consumption is something we are becoming increasingly concerned with in the modern world. Any personal computer that's low on power consumption and is environment friendly can be called a Green PC. A Custom green PC is assembled with environmental friendly components. By building a Green Pc with recyclable product a manufacturer can not only consume less energy but they also save the planet and results in low energy cost.
As concern about environmental issues continues to rise, Green PC is expected to become more popular. Today many PC Specialist are building a Green PC or Energy Efficient PC. A number of of the features that are important in making a computer greener include size, efficiency and materials. First essential component of Custom Green PC is an 80 plus compliant power supply as these power supplies deliver only the power required to run. Along with that get a lead-free microprocessor and Ethernet adapters. A smaller flat screen monitor also contributes to a Green PC. Build green PC which has a power-management feature to prompt the PC, hard drive and monitor to go into a low-energy sleep mode after a preset period of inactivity.
In order to make an Energy Efficient PC many PC Specialist are designing a motherboard that draw less power compared to the previous motherboards. Further more hard drive also have an power management system that make them consume less power and sometime push them into sleep mode when left idle. Research and development team are trying to keep upcoming devices like RAM, GPU and CPU as energy efficient as possible. Now it is possible to build a green PC that actually functions better, with more power and ability, than many other computers.

Set Rules For Swimming

Once it gets hot, kids are naturally drawn to playing in and near water. But thousands of kids end up in emergency rooms each year because of near-drownings, and more than 1,000 under age 14 drown.
The American Academy of Pediatrics offers these guidelines to help keep you and your family safe at the pool:
* Never leave children unsupervised in or around a pool -- particularly an inflatable pool -- even for a moment.
* All pools should be surrounded by a fence at least 4 feet high without any openings that a child could squeeze through. The gate latch should be out of a child's reach.
* Don't rely on devices such as "floaties," which don't offer enough protection to keep a child from drowning.
* Provide swimming lessons for children as appropriate. Parents should be CPR-certified.
* Make sure pool drain covers are not broken or missing.
* Keep equipment -- such as a rescue hook and life preservers -- nearby at all times.

Healthy Wishes

A new research has found that people with good manners at work and at home are more than twice as likely to be in good health.
It found that those people tend to have more hygiene routines in place and take better care of their health and well-being.
As a result, they suffer less from colds and cases of diarrhoea and are two-and-a-half times more likely to be in good health than those with poor manners.
The study, conducted by Dettol and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, also found older people look after their health more than young people and also have better manners.
Homemakers have the highest levels of personal and household hygiene, while office workers and students have the worst. Women also tend to be more hygienic than men.
"Everyone can change their behaviour and help to break the chain of infection. Good manners are also at the heart of it - being aware and thinking how our behaviour affects us and those around us," the Daily Express quoted John Oxford, chairman of the Hygiene Council and professor of virology at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, as saying.
"We're not powerless against infectious disease - everyone can contribute through simple hygiene measures such as washing our hands," he added.

Benefits Of Yoga

Two studies have suggested that individuals with rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia who practice yoga showed statistically significant improvements in disease activity.
The results of one study conducted in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) among 47 patients (26 yoga patients and 21 controls) demonstrated that patients who completed 12 sessions of Raj yoga which is one of the gentler styles of yoga, combining exercise and breathing techniques showed significant improvements in disease activity scores (DAS28) of p=0.021 and health assessment questionnaire's. However there was no statistically significant improvement on the quality of life scale (QoL).
"Most patients with RA do not exercise regularly despite the fact that those who do report less pain and are therefore more physically active," said Dr Humeira Badsha MD Rheumatologist and founder of the Emirates Arthritis Foundation, Dubai, UAE.
"While our study has been conducted in a small group of patients the results show clear benefits for patients who regularly practice Raj yoga. We believe that practicing yoga longer term could in fact result in further significant improvements and hope our study drives further research into the benefits of yoga in RA," added Badsha.
Results of another study investigating the effects of yoga on the QoL of patients with fibromyalgia, demonstrated that QoL scores, after an eight session classical yoga program which combines gentle yoga postures, breathing techniques and meditation, were better than scores obtained before the program along with a significant decrease in the anxiety levels of patients. As anxiety is often a key symptom in patients with this condition, this study represents a positive step in improving the lives of people suffering from fibrolmyalgia.

Heurone Disease

A new study has found that people with longer ring fingers relative to the index finger are much more likely to have motor neuron disease. UK researchers measured the finger length of 110 people, including 47 with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), the most common form of the disease. The ratio between the fingers has already been linked to many traits, including sporting prowess and aggression, and is believed to be set in the womb. Experts believe a longer fourth finger relative to the index finger could be partly determined by how much exposure a baby has to the male hormone testosterone before birth. Indeed, men often do have slightly longer ring fingers than index fingers, while women often do not. And experts know that motor neurons need testosterone for survival and repair, and men who are born without the ability to use testosterone in the normal way develop a form of motor neuron degeneration. However, experts say finger length cannot help screen for ALS and more work is needed. This simple, but carefully conducted study raises some interesting questions about how events occurring before birth may increase the risk of developing motor neuron disease later in life," the BBC quoted Dr Brian Dickie of the Motor Neurone Disease Association, as saying. "But it's important to remember that exposure to higher testosterone in the womb does not directly cause motor neuron disease," he said. "Many people with long ring fingers will never develop motor neuron disease as we believe there are numerous genetic and environmental factors that need to coincide in order to trigger the disease," he added. The finding is published in the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry.

Bioidenticals Nature

It really doesn't have to be this way

We were not made to live so long. Before the advent of technology people routinely died somewhere around age 40 to 45. This was long enough to fulfill the biological imperative of reproduction. Once children were born and able to somewhat fend for themselves, hormonal levels decreased. And with these decreases went the protection from degenerative diseases that hormones provide. Very seldom does one hormone decline in isolation. Hormones need to be in balance for good health, and when one hormone declines the balance is thrown out of kilter. Stress is placed on the body to compensate and that stress throws the other hormones out of balance. Multiple hormone deficiencies are common in people past the age of 40.
All the diseases we take for granted as being inevitable parts of the aging process are frequently just manifestations of hormonal decline. High blood pressure, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, joint pain, osteoporosis, cognitive impairment, and even allergies are symptoms of hormonal insufficiency. The current epidemic of breast cancer is primarily the result of hormonal decline as is prostate cancer. Young people with full hormonal profiles rarely get any of these diseases. They begin to occur around age 40, about the time Mother Nature's use for us is over.
All the organic fruits and vegetables, vitamins and mineral supplements, chemical free living, and exercise will not save people from hormone decline. It is built into us like a ticking time bomb. Our ancestors, who lived healthy lifestyles, grew their own food in their fields, got plenty of exercise and had never heard of the chemicals we now take for granted, still lost their hormones and died at young ages.

People now have a way to fool Mother Nature

Every living thing seems to love being part of the cosmic dance. It will do whatever it can to protect its life, but the biological imperative remains. Once reproduction is accomplished, everything's days are numbered. Except for people. Now we are able to postpone the inevitable and continue on our merry way for a few more years if we can get nature to believe we are still able to reproduce. This is the signal sent by replacement hormones.
With the advent of bioidentical hormones people separated themselves from every other living thing by their ability to prolong health and wellbeing beyond what Nature had in mind. Bioidentical hormone replacement can extend the years in which our parents are able to live happy, healthy and independent lives. And as we move through our 40's and 50's, it is bioidentical hormone replacement that will help us maintain our health and energy so that when the time comes we can provide the kind of quality care our parents deserve.
For optimal results, bioidentical hormone replacement should begin as soon as symptoms of hormonal decline are apparent. This way the body can maintain the balance needed to support all organs and functions for as long as possible. But for people who have already experienced hormonal decline, it is never too late. A body starved for hormones will respond no matter what the age of the person. Degenerative disease symptoms will regress or disappear and a better quality of life will return. Even for those experiencing the ravages of age, hormone replacement will make life better.
One of the worst symptoms of hormone decline typically found in women is the inability to sleep. Night after night, little or no sleep leads to cognitive and psychological impairment, and a miserable quality of life. Restoring hormones at any age will restore the ability to sleep. Hormone restoration helps people regain their ability to balance and walk, allowing for the freedom being mobile conveys. With restored balance comes reduction in the chance for falling and for breaking bones. In fact, the quality of bone is vastly improved by hormone replacement, as it is hormones that direct the cycle of bone construction and bone destruction so necessary for a healthy skeletal framework.
Full hormone replacement increases cellular energy, elevates mood, and restores confidence and surefootedness, allowing older people more time to live independently and care for themselves. Replacement hormones allow many older people to make it though life without having to experience the dreaded degenerative diseases like cancer and heart disease.

Bioidenticals are exact replicas of the hormones made in the body

Bioidentical hormones have the identical molecular structure as the hormones made by the human body. Under a microscope, they cannot be distinguished from hormones made in the body. They are not the hormone replacement drugs that are behind the HRT headlines proclaiming the danger of hormone replacement. Bioidentical hormones are FDA approved, and have been proven safe in thousands of studies. They require no detoxification in the liver, and have no side effects in physiological doses that replicate what the body made when it was young and healthy. Bioidenticals simply make the hormonally deprived body sigh with relief.

Parents deserve a doctor who specializes in anti-aging medicine

With the exception of progesterone, which is sold over the counter in health stores, a prescription is needed for bioidenticals bought in the U.S. Most traditional doctors who practice standard disease establishment medicine have never heard of bioidentical hormones because they get all their information about what to prescribe from drug company representatives. If they have heard of bioidenticals they will probably tell you not to use them because they are not drugs. This is slowly changing as drug companies realize there is money to be made from manufacturing bioidenticals, but it will be awhile before the average doctor has any useful knowledge about bioidenticals.
People wanting bioidenticals for their parents or themselves will be best served by finding a doctor who specializes in anti-aging medicine. Most major cities have several of these specialists who have the know-how to use bioidentical hormones to make the remaining years of parents the best they can be. Medium sized cities most likely have at least one such doctor. Anti-aging medicine is the fastest growing field of medicine. Some OB/GYN doctors have also successfully branched out into bioidentical hormone replacement. It is not always easy to find these people, since most disease establishment doctors do not make referrals to them. It may take some calling around to find them, but they are there. The book Breakthrough, contains a series of interviews conducted with top anti-aging doctors complied by Suzanne Somers. It offers a wealth of information on bioidentical hormone replacement as does Suzanne's earlier book, Ageless. Breakthough has a state by state listing of anti-aging doctors. Another way to find them is to call the compounding pharmacy in your city and ask who they recommend. Bioidentical hormones are made in compounding pharmacies and the people there will know who is highly qualified.

Indian waters not Safe

Voicing concern over recent incidents involving Somali pirates near Indian waters, Defence Minister A K Antony today said some other forces were helping them and the country cannot be a mere spectator to it.
"Our waters are not safe like before. There are some other forces helping them (pirates). We cannot remain mere spectators," he said, adding the forces are yet to be identified.
The incidents point that the country''s coasts were not protected and "if we are not vigilant, danger would not be far behind", he said while inaugurating Bharat Electrical Limited''s Product Support Centre at KINFRA Hi Tech Park at nearby Kalamassery.
Antony said Navy and Coast Guard would step up their surveillance along the Kerala-Lakshadweep-Tamil Nadu coast in the wake of arrest of pirates off Lakshadweep islands.
More Naval and Coast Guard vessels and aircraft would be deployed to increase surveillance, he said.
In the last one month, two vessels of the pirates had been seized in joint operations by the Navy and Coast Guard and last year 14 ships were attacked by pirates near the 8 Degree Channel in Lakshadweep.
Later talking to reporters, Antony said India had stated that UN should provide the lead in combating piracy.
On the arrest of some suspected Pakistan and Iranian nationals from a fishing vessel a few months ago near Lakshadweep, he said probe was still on.
Asked about the recent killing of a youth in Kashmir by security forces, he said it was ''unfortunate'' and the army had ordered an enquiry. It was a case of mistaken identity, he said.
On the suicide by the uncle of Sandeep Unnikrishnan, the NSG commando who was killed during the Mumbai terror attacks, he said it was a very ''painful'' incident.
The former Kerala chief minister refused to take any questions on politics saying, "No Politics, no masala."
Navy also provides a helping hand to fishermen who are in distress when at sea, he said.
The BEL''s centre had been set up to provide waterfront support for the Southern Naval Command here and its to support outsourcing of Naval System projects to units of KELTRON.
Antony said the project, the foundation stone of which was laid in 2008 by him, could be completed in a record time, thanks to the support of the state government.
